Handpicked furnished homes for short stays in Europe

Bernard Property Sales & Lettings is a family-run business letting well-kept apartments and holiday homes by the night. We keep the list short on purpose, look after every home ourselves, and let you speak to a person who has actually stayed in the property you are booking.

Why book direct

A small family business, not a booking marketplace

We are a lettings business rather than a platform, so the person who answers your enquiry is the person responsible for the home you are staying in. That changes what you can expect before, during and after your stay.

Homes we have seen ourselves

Every property is visited and furnished by us before it appears on this list. If a home is not ready for guests, it does not go on the site.

Photographs of the actual home

The pictures on each home page are taken inside that property, room by room. We do not use show-home or library photography to fill gaps.

Clear terms before you pay

Rates, minimum stays, deposits and the cancellation window are written out on the home page and in our booking terms, so nothing is a surprise.

One contact who knows the home

Enquiries, arrival instructions and anything that goes wrong during your stay come to the same small team, day to day.

How it works

Four steps from enquiry to keys

Tell us your dates

Send the property name, your arrival and departure dates, and how many guests are travelling. A short message is enough.

We confirm the home

We check the calendar and come back with the nightly rate, the minimum stay and anything you should know about the property.

Pay the deposit

A booking deposit holds the dates. The balance and any refundable damage deposit are set out in writing before you pay.

Collect the keys

You receive arrival instructions, the address and a contact number for the day you travel.

Weekend and short breaks

Two or three nights, booked in a single conversation

Most of our bookings are short: a long weekend, a city visit, a few days near the coast. Those stays work best when the practical questions are answered quickly, so we keep the process deliberately small — one enquiry, one confirmation, one set of arrival notes.

  • Two-night minimum on most homes, three at peak weekends
  • Flexible arrival days outside the school holidays
  • Early check-in or late check-out when the calendar allows
  • A single point of contact for the whole booking

Longer and temporary stays

When you need a furnished home for weeks, not nights

Alongside holiday lets we take longer bookings: relocation between homes, project work away from home, a gap between tenancies, or family visiting for an extended period. Longer stays are priced per week or per month by arrangement and are usually quieter on the calendar than weekends.

  • Weekly and monthly rates on request
  • Workspace, reliable Wi-Fi and laundry in every home
  • Utility bills and council charge included in the rate
  • Rolling extensions agreed in writing while you stay

Before every arrival we walk the home: boiler and heating, Wi-Fi, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, hot water, a working hairdryer and enough of everything for the number of guests booked. Anything broken is repaired or replaced rather than left for you to find.

  • Bed linen and towels laundered professionally

  • No shared facilities with other guests

Questions before you book

The things guests ask us most

Which countries and towns are your homes in?

Our homes are in selected locations in the European Union. Because availability changes with the season, we list the homes themselves rather than a long list of destinations — send us your dates and we will tell you exactly which properties are free and where they are.

Are the photographs of the real property?

Yes. Each home page uses photographs taken inside and outside that specific property. Nothing on this site is library photography and no image is shared between two different homes.

What is the shortest stay?

Two nights on most homes, three nights on the larger townhouse and coastal cottage, and four nights on the family home. Peak weekends and holiday periods may carry a longer minimum.

How do deposits and cancellation work?

A booking deposit holds your dates and the balance is due before arrival. If you cancel outside the notice period in our booking terms we refund the amounts you have paid, less any cleaning charge already carried out. Full details are set out on the booking terms page.

Can we bring a pet?

Some homes accept one well-behaved dog by prior agreement and for a small additional cleaning charge. Tell us when you enquire and we will confirm which properties can take your pet.

Who do we contact if something goes wrong?

You will have a direct telephone number and email address for the duration of your stay. We would rather hear about a problem on the first evening than read about it afterwards.

Getting the details right

Rate card and what sits behind it

Nightly rates depend on the home, the season and the length of your stay. The table below shows our published starting rates; quotes for a specific week take account of the number of guests and how long you are staying.

Tell us your dates and we will do the rest

Send the home you like, your arrival and departure dates and the number of guests. We reply with availability, the nightly rate and the next step — usually the same day.
